Giant Panda Collection

Giant pandas (Ursidae) are mammals native to China, and are easily recognized by their distinctive black and white fur. Giant pandas have a diet that consists mainly of bamboo, but they will also eat other plants, small animals, and even fish. They spend most of their day eating, sleeping, and playing in the trees or on the ground. Giant pandas live in mountainous regions with dense bamboo forests and can be found at elevations between 5,000-10,000 feet above sea level, and are solitary animals that usually only come together to mate. Due to habitat destruction and poaching for their fur they can an endangered species with fewer than 2,000 left in the wild today. Conservation efforts have been successful in increasing their numbers over recent years but more work needs to be done if we want these amazing creatures to survive for future generations to enjoy.
