Shrew-mole Collection

Shrew-moles are small, burrowing mammals belonging to the Talpidae family. They have a long, slender body and short legs with five toes on each foot. Their fur is soft and thick, ranging in color from gray to brown or black. They have a pointed snout and small eyes that are covered by fur. Shrew-moles feed mainly on insects, worms, and other invertebrates found in their underground tunnels. They use their long claws to dig these tunnels which can reach up to 3 feet deep, and are active during the day but prefer to remain hidden underground during the night. They live in solitary lives but can be found living together in groups of two or three individuals during mating season. These animals play an important role in maintaining healthy ecosystems by controlling insect populations and aerating soil through their digging activities.
