Red Panda Collection

The red panda, also known as the lesser panda or red bear-cat, is a mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China, and is slightly larger than a domestic cat and has reddish-brown fur, a long, shaggy tail, and a waddling gait due to its shorter front legs. Its diet consists mainly of bamboo but it will also eat eggs, birds, insects and small mammals, and are solitary animals that live in trees and are active mainly at night. They communicate with each other through scent marking and vocalizations such as whistles or chirps. The main threat to their survival is habitat loss due to deforestation for agriculture or timber harvesting. Conservation efforts have been put in place to protect this species from extinction including protected areas where they can live safely without human interference.
