Argentatus Collection

Argentatus are a species of flying mammal found in the tropical regions of South and Central America. They have long, pointed wings and a short tail. They feed on fruits, nectar, insects and small vertebrates and can active during the day, usually seen in groups of three to five individuals. They use their wings to maneuver around obstacles while searching for food or shelter. The males have bright blue-green feathers on their back while females have brownish-gray feathers with white spots on their wings and back. These animals can reach speeds up to 40 mph when they fly and can glide for long distances without flapping their wings. Their diet consists mainly of fruits but they also eat small insects such as ants, beetles, moths and grasshoppers as well as some small vertebrates like lizards or frogs and can important pollinators in the rainforest ecosystem due to their ability to spread pollen from one plant species to another while feeding on flowers or fruit trees.
