Ringtail Collection

Ringtail (Procyonidae) are small mammals that belong to the same family as raccoons. They have a long, bushy tail with black and white stripes, which gives them their name, and are mainly nocturnal and live in wooded areas, but can also be found in urban areas, and are omnivorous and feed on a variety of foods including insects, fruits, nuts, eggs, small vertebrates and carrion. They use their long tails for balance while climbing trees or rocks. Ringtails mate during the spring season and typically give birth to two or three young after a gestation period of two months. The young stay with their mother until they reach adulthood at around one year old, and are known for being very vocal animals that communicate through chirps and screams when threatened or excited.
