Rufus Collection

Rufus is a species of macropodidae mammal, native to Australia, and are small marsupials with a body length of up to 60 cm and a tail length of up to 80 cm. They have short fur that is usually grey or brown in colour, with lighter patches on their face and chest. Rufus feed mainly on grasses and herbs, but will also eat insects, fruits and seeds, and are active during the day and spend most of their time foraging for food in open grasslands or woodlands. Rufus live in small family groups consisting of one dominant male, several females and their young offspring. These animals are important seed dispersers as they help spread the seeds from plants they consume throughout the environment. As such they play an important role in maintaining healthy ecosystems across Australia's diverse landscapes.
