Indri Collection

Indri (Indriidae) are a species of lemur native to Madagascar, and are the largest living lemurs and the only surviving member of the family Indriidae. They have a black and white fur coat, long limbs, and a large head with prominent ears, and are arboreal animals that live in small groups in the rainforest canopy. They feed mainly on leaves, fruits, flowers, and insects. Their loud call is one of their most distinctive features; it can be heard up to 3 km away, and are endangered due to habitat destruction from logging and agricultural activities as well as hunting for bushmeat. Conservation efforts such as reforestation projects have been implemented to help protect these unique mammals from extinction.
