Carri Collection

Carri are small, omnivorous marsupials native to Central and South America. They have a short snout, large eyes, and a long tail and can active during the day and night, foraging for food in trees or on the ground. They feed on fruits, insects, small vertebrates, and carrion. Carri live in groups of up to 10 individuals in dens made from hollow logs or tree cavities. Breeding occurs year-round with females giving birth to 1-4 young after a gestation period of about 12 days. The young remain in the pouch for about two months before dispersing into the wild where they reach sexual maturity at around one year old and can important seed dispersers as well as prey for larger predators such as birds of prey and snakes.
