Chital Collection

Chital, also known as spotted deer, are a species of Cervidae mammals native to India and Sri Lanka, and are one of the most common and widespread deer species in the world. They have reddish-brown coats with white spots, and males have antlers that can reach up to 30 inches in length. They live in herds of up to 20 individuals and feed on grasses, leaves, fruits, nuts, bark and other vegetation and can active during the day but may become nocturnal in areas where they face high levels of human disturbance and are known for their alarm calls which alert other members of their herd when danger is near. Chital play an important role in their ecosystems by dispersing seeds through their droppings which helps regenerate forests and grasslands.
