Yellow Baboon Collection

The Yellow Baboon (Cercopithecidae) is a species of Old World monkey found in Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, and are medium-sized primates, with males reaching up to 70 cm in length and weighing up to 15 kg. They have yellow-brown fur, a black face, and a long tail. Their diet consists mainly of fruits, seeds, insects, eggs, small reptiles and mammals. They live in large troops of up to 100 individuals that are led by an alpha male. The troops occupy territories that can range from 5 km2 to 20 km2 depending on the availability of food resources. The Yellow Baboon is an important species for maintaining healthy ecosystems as they disperse seeds from the fruits they eat and help keep populations of other animals in check through predation.
