Silvery Marmoset Collection

Silvery marmosets (Cebidae) are small mammals native to South America. They have a silvery-gray coat, with white and black markings on their faces and backs. They have long tails, large ears, and sharp claws that help them climb trees. These primates live in groups of up to 20 individuals in the rainforest canopy. They feed mainly on fruits, insects, nectar and sap from trees. Silvery marmosets communicate with each other through vocalizations such as chirps, whistles and barks and are known for their cooperative breeding behavior; one or two adults will care for the young while the rest of the group helps out by providing food or guarding against predators. This species is considered vulnerable due to habitat loss caused by deforestation. Conservation efforts are needed to ensure its survival in its natural environment.
