Wild Water Buffalo Collection

Wild water buffalo (Bubalus arnee) are large, hoofed mammals belonging to the Bovidae family, and are native to South and Southeast Asia, and are found in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia. They have a stocky body with short legs and a large head. Their coat is usually black or dark brown in color with white patches on their forehead and muzzle and can reach up to 6 feet tall at the shoulder and weigh up to 2200 pounds. Wild water buffalo live in swamps, marshes or shallow waters of rivers where they feed on grasses as well as aquatic plants like reeds and sedges. They live in herds of up to 30 individuals led by an alpha male who defends his territory from other males through aggressive behavior such as charging or bellowing loudly. These animals are threatened by habitat destruction due to human activities such as agriculture development or illegal hunting for their meat or horns which are used for traditional medicine purposes.
