Frontalis Collection

Frontalis, also known as the saola, is a species of bovid mammal found in the Annamite Mountains of Vietnam and Laos, and is one of the rarest large mammals on Earth, and has only been seen in the wild a handful of times since its discovery in 1992, long face with distinctive white markings on its forehead, short horns that curve backward from its head, and a reddish-brown coat with white stripes along its sides. Its diet consists mainly of vegetation such as grasses and leaves. Conservation efforts are underway to protect this species from habitat loss due to deforestation and hunting by humans. With more research into their habits and habitats, it is hoped that this unique animal can be saved from extinction.
