Fern Scale Collection

Fern Scale are small, sap-sucking insects that feed on the leaves and stems of plants, and are usually found in warm, humid climates and can be identified by their flat, oval shape and waxy covering. The adult female lays eggs on the underside of leaves or stems and when they hatch, the young nymphs feed on plant juices, and are cause damage to plants by sucking out their sap, which can lead to wilting or yellowing of foliage. In addition to feeding on plants, it also produce honeydew which attracts ants and other insects that may further damage the plant. If left unchecked, Fern Scale infestations can cause significant harm to crops or ornamental plants so it is important for gardeners to monitor for signs of infestation and take appropriate action if necessary.
