Thread Tail Collection

Threadtail fishes are a small, slender fish species native to the freshwater habitats of Central and South America. They have an elongated body with a long, thin tail and can reach up to 4 inches in length. Threadtails are omnivorous, feeding on small crustaceans, insect larvae, and other aquatic invertebrates and are known for their brightly colored scales which range from yellow to orange or red depending on the species. Threadtails prefer slow-moving rivers or streams with plenty of vegetation where they can hide among the plants and rocks. In captivity they should be kept in an aquarium with plenty of hiding places such as driftwood or rocks as well as live plants for them to graze upon. Threadtails make great additions to any community tank due to their peaceful nature and interesting behavior when kept in groups.
