Lumpsucker Collection

The lumpsucker is a small fish found in the northern Atlantic Ocean and Arctic waters, and is a bottom-dwelling species, living on the ocean floor near rocks and coral reefs, round body with two large fins on its back, and its head is covered with bony plates. Its eyes are small and close to its mouth, which has several rows of teeth for crushing prey. Its color ranges from light gray to dark brown, depending on the environment it lives in. The lumpsucker feeds mainly on crustaceans such as shrimp and crabs, but will also eat other fish if available. It reproduces by laying eggs that are attached to rocks or other objects near the ocean floor. The eggs hatch after about three weeks into larvae that drift away with the currents until they reach adulthood at around one year old.
