White Stork Collection

White Storks are large, long-legged birds with white feathers and black wingtips. They have a red beak and legs, and a long neck, and are found in Europe, Africa, and parts of Asia. White Storks feed on insects, frogs, small fish, reptiles and rodents. During the breeding season they build large nests in trees or on rooftops. The female lays 3-5 eggs which are incubated for about 33 days by both parents. After hatching the chicks remain in the nest for about 6 weeks before fledging. White Storks migrate south during winter months to warmer climates where food is more abundant. Conservation efforts have been successful in helping to stabilize their population numbers but they still face threats from habitat destruction due to human activity as well as predation by other animals such as foxes or cats.
