Mistle Thrush Collection

The Mistle Thrush is a species of thrush, belonging to the Passerines family of birds, and is native to Europe and parts of Asia, and can be found in woodlands, parks and gardens, grey-brown back with white spots, a white underside with black spots, and orange legs. Its diet consists mainly of insects such as caterpillars and beetles, as well as fruits such as berries. During the breeding season it builds its nest in trees or shrubs close to the ground. The female lays 3-5 eggs which are incubated for 12-14 days before hatching. The young fledge after 14-16 days but remain dependent on their parents for several weeks afterwards until they become independent. This species is considered to be common throughout its range but numbers have been declining due to habitat loss caused by human activities such as deforestation and urbanisation.
