American Robin Collection

The American Robin (Turdus migratorius) is a species of thrush that belongs to the Passerines family of birds, and is native to North America and can be found in most parts of the continent, from Alaska to Mexico, distinctive red breast, gray back and wings, and black head. It also has a white eyebrow stripe that distinguishes it from other thrushes. The American Robin is an omnivore, feeding on both insects and fruits such as berries and cherries. Its diet also includes earthworms, snails, beetles, caterpillars and spiders. During the breeding season it builds its nest in trees or shrubs near open areas with plenty of food sources nearby. Its song is one of the first signs of spring in many parts of North America as they are among the earliest migrants returning each year from their wintering grounds in Central America or Mexico.
