Wood Warbler Collection

The Wood Warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix) is a species of Old World warbler, belonging to the family of Passerines birds, and is native to Europe and Asia, but can also be found in parts of North Africa, distinctive yellow-green upper body with a white underside, and its wings are barred with black and white stripes. Its song consists of a series of high-pitched notes that can be heard from some distance away. It feeds on insects such as flies, beetles, caterpillars and spiders which it catches by gleaning them from foliage or hawking them in midair. During the breeding season it builds its nest in trees or shrubs close to the ground. The female lays up to four eggs which she incubates for 12–14 days before they hatch. Both parents feed the young until they fledge after about two weeks.
