Central American Pygmy Owl Collection

The Central American Pygmy Owl is a small, nocturnal owl found in Mexico and Central America and has a gray-brown back and head, with white spots on its wings and tail. Its eyes are yellow, with black rings around them. The Central American Pygmy Owl is about 6 to 7 inches long, with a wingspan of up to 16 inches. It feeds mainly on insects and small rodents, but will also eat lizards and frogs. This owl nests in tree cavities or abandoned woodpecker holes, laying 2-4 eggs per clutch, and are rarely seen during the day as they prefer to hunt at night when their prey is most active.
