Mourning Dove Collection

Mourning Dove (Doves Columbiformes) is a species of bird found in North America, and is a medium-sized, slender dove with grayish-brown upperparts and pinkish-gray underparts. Its wings are long and pointed, and its tail is short and squared off at the end, distinctive call that sounds like "coo-ahh," which it uses to attract mates or warn of danger. It feeds mainly on seeds, but will also eat insects and berries when available. During breeding season, the male will perform an aerial courtship display by flying high into the air with loud calls before diving back down towards its mate. The female builds a flimsy nest out of twigs in trees or shrubs where she lays two white eggs that hatch after about two weeks incubation period, and are common throughout most of North America and their populations remain stable despite some local declines due to habitat destruction or hunting pressure in some areas.
