Its plumage is dark brown with white patches on its head, neck, and underparts and has yellow eyes and legs with powerful talons for catching prey such as small mammals, reptiles, birds, fish, and insects. During breeding season they form pairs which build nests on cliffs or trees near water sources where they lay two to three eggs each year.
