Sessions House, Preston BL18223

SESSIONS HOUSE, Lancaster Road, Preston, Lancashire. The interior of the assembly hall at the County Sessions House. The court house was built between 1900 and 1903 to the designs of Henry Littler, the County architect, in an Edwardian Baroque style. Fashions for a Coronation Summer, 1953

A crease-resisting nylon tulle evening dress from Marshall and Snelgrove, one of a quartette of outfits showcased by the Tatler as being perfect for the Coronation summer of 1953. Its ruched bodice is finished with a broad band of gold embroidery decorated with crystal jewels to match the colour of the frock. Date: 1953
