The first reigning monarch to set foot on Iona for nearly a thousand years, Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by Sir Charles Maclean is followed by Prince Philip and Princess Margaret as she walks from the jetty to the Abbey of Iona. Part of a royal tour of the Western Isles of Scotland in 1956. Date: 1956
