MFB North Kensington fire station, West London
North Kensington was one of the latter fire stations to be built by the MFB in 1882 prior to the creation of the London County Council in 1889 and the changing of the name of the MFB to the London Fire Brigade. Located at 58 Faraday Road, the station remained operational until 1986 when the new North Kensington fire station was opened in Ladbroke Grove

Front cover of The Tatler featuring a photograph of Loelia, Duchess of Westminster (1902 - 1993), born Loelia Mary Ponsonby. She married Hugh Richard Arthur, second Duke of Westminster in 1930 in the society event of the year, but the marriage proved unhappy, and many details were revealed in her frank autobiography of 1961, Grace and Favour'. She divorced the Duke in 1947 and married Sir Martin Lindsay in 1969. Date: 1930

Top left is Princess Margaret or Margarita of Greece (1905 -1981), Princess of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, top right is Princess Sophia of Greece (1914 - 2001), Princess of Hesse-Cassel, bottom right, Princess Cecilie (Cecile) of Greece (1911 -1937), Grand Duchess of Hesse and by Rhine and bottom left, Princess Theodora of Greece (1906 - 1969), Margravine of Baden. All married to German minor royals, none of the Duke's sisters were invited to the royal wedding of 1947. Princess Cecile died tragically in a plane crash, together with her husband, two children and unborn fourth child in 1937 on the way to a wedding. Date: 1930
