Ypres - Artillery convoy on road passing St. Martin's Church with the Cloth Hall behind them. Captain Gilbert Holiday, Royal Field Artillery (1879-1937). Holiday'S Early Life Was Spent In St. John'S Wood And From His Window He Was Able To Watch The Royal Horse Artillery, Which Was His First Contact With Horses. He Was Educated At Westminster And Then Studied At The R.A. Schools. He Worked As An Illustrator At The Graphic, The Tatler And The Illustrated London News. Holiday Served As A Gunner In The Royal Field Artillery On The Western Front During The First World War And He Painted Many Pictures For Army Messes

Rothschild Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi) standing in the Golden Forest of Acacia Fever trees in Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya

A solitary African Rothshild Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi) standing on the border of the Golden Forest of Acacia Fever Trees (Acacia xanthophloea) at Lake Nakuru National Park. Rothschilds giraffe was formerly considered a subspecies of a singular Giraffa species. Genetic analysis has now determined it to be a subspecies of the Northern giraffe. It is one of the most endangered distinct populations of giraffe, with 1500 individuals estimated in the wild
