Home cholesterol test kit

Cholesterol indicator test for use at home. This kit tests a small sample of blood for the presence of high levels of cholesterol. The scale on the disk indicates the level of cholesterol. High blood cholesterol levels (hypercholesterolaemia) increase the chances of cardiovascular diseases, which include heart attacks and strokes. Cholesterol is present in foods such as red meat and eggs, and a low cholesterol diet can reduce the risk of developing such diseases

Halogen bulbs Featured 16 Jan 2006 Print

Halogen bulbs

Halogen bulbs. Freshly-produced halogen light bulbs for vehicle headlights. The bulbs contain halogen gases which slow the loss of their metal filament and so extend their life. They are also coated in a thin layer of alloy. As well as lowering the amount of harmful ultraviolet radiation the bulbs produce, the alloy increases their efficiency by reducing the amount of heat they lose as infrared radiation.
