A twisted-wing parasite (Xenos moutoni)

A twisted-wing parasite (Xenos moutoni), female parasitising a Yellow hornet (Vespa simillima). Larvae attach themselves to foraging hornets and possibly enter larval bodies of the host hornets. They do not directly kill the hornets but infested hornets become inactive and do not share in colony maintenance and development. Japan
