Lappet-faced vulture

Lappet-faced vulture (Torgos tracheliotus). With a wingspan of almost three metres, this is one of the largest vultures in the world. It ranges throughout northern and southern Africa, and along the east coast, living off the carcasses of dead animals and occasionally off smaller live prey. Its powerful beak means other vultures and animals often need to wait for it to open up a carcass before they themselves can feed. Although they only produce one egg each breeding season, these vultures can live for up to forty years

Where the colours meet at the edges, they form magenta (red and blue), yellow (red and green) and cyan (blue and green), which are known as the secondary colours. Together, the primary and secondary colours form white (centre). By mixing the primary colours in varying amounts, all possible colours can be made
