Perseus constellation. Optical image of the constellation Perseus (upper centre). North is at top. The very bright star at upper left is Capella (Alpha Aurigae) in the neighbouring constellation Auriga, the charioteer. Capella is the sixth brightest star in the sky. At lower left is the bright star Aldebaran (Alpha Tauri) in Taurus, the bull. Right of and slightly above Aldebaran is the Pleiades star cluster (M45), a nearby group of very young stars born from the same gas cloud. At lower right is the constellation Aries, the ram. Taurus and Aries are zodiacal constellations through which the Sun passes in spring
