Intel computer chip. Macrophotograph of an Intel integrated circuit and its surrounding tracks. At centre is the integrated circuit or "computer chip" which is about 27 mm square and manufactured by Intel. Computer chips carry complex microscopic circuits printed on thin wafers of silicon. The tracks around the chip connect it to the rest of the computer. The tracks are connected to the chip by thin gold wires (not clearly seen here). Intel is the world's largest manufacture of computer chips
