Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (not pictured) and Conservative Chairman Norman Tebbit
Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (not pictured) and Conservative Chairman Norman Tebbit return to the Grand Hotel in Brighton. They made a surprise visit to the official reopening of the hotel 22 months after it was blasted by an IRA bomb during the Tory conference. Five people died. Mr Tebbit was rescued from beneath the tons of debris. He quipped today, "Room service was lousy that night. It was three and a half hours before anybody came to me". 28th August 1986
